KAVALA COOKIES (Turkish moon shaped almond cookies)

Ingredients:
- 130 g butter at room temperature
- 330 g flour
- 165 g ground almonds
- 60 g confectioners sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp baking powder

*For topping: confectioners sugar

Directions:
1) Place the almonds and the flour in a large skillet and roast for about 5 minutes in low heat, until it becomes light brown
2) Remove from heat and transfer into a mixing bowl, let cool!
3) Add confectioners sugar and baking powder and combine
4) Add butter and egg, knead until it forms a dough
5) Place the dough on the counter and roll onto 0,5 cm thickness
6) Cut with moon shaped cookie cutters and place on a baking sheet covered with parchement paper
7) Bake in a 180°C (pre-heated) oven until crispy
8) Serve with confectioners sugar
