KURU KÖFTE (Turkish flatten meatballs)

Ingredients:
- 500 g ground beef or lamb
- 1 onion, grated
- 1 egg
- 1 cup breadcrumb
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 Tbsp dried mint
- 1 Tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper

Directions:
1) Put all the ingredients in a bowl and process until blended
2) Roll the mixture into small meatballs or finger shaped patties using dampened hands
3) Heat the oil in a heavy skillet and fry the balls or patties until cooked through and evenly browned
4) The meatballs should be stirred several times, the patties turned once
5) Remove them with a slotted spoon to drain and serve the meatballs hot
