Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 2 cups flour
- ½ cup icing sugar or confectioners’ sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- ½ tsp baking powder
*For serving: ½ cup icing sugar or confectioners’ sugar
Directions:
1) Preheat the oven to 160°C
2) In a mixing bowl, cream 1/2 cup of the icing sugar, the butter and the vanilla
3) Sift the flour and the baking powder, slowly add to the creamed butter. Mix well
4) Divide the dough into two equal pieces and give them shapes of a sausage
5) Cut into pieces and place the pieces on a baking tray lined with parchment or baking paper.
6) Bake for 15-20 minutes, they should be cooked through - firm - but remain pale in colour
7) Allow to cool, dust with the icing sugar and serve with Turkish tea
