KARAKÖY POGACASI (the street vendors sell these crunchy and oily pastries in ‘Karaköy’, a town in Istanbul)

Ingredients:
- 2 eggs (1 egg yolk will be used to brush the pogaça’s)
- 2 Tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ cup milk, warm
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 200 g margarine
- 5 cups flour
- 10 g instant yeast
- 1 handful of fresh dill, finely chopped

Directions:
1) Combine yeast, sugar, vegetable oil and milk in a large bowl and wait for 10 min.
2) Set your oven to 190°C. Add 1 egg and 1 egg white, margarine and salt into the yeast mix
3) Add flour slowly, while kneading the dough. You will have soft dough
4) Take a mandarin size of dough and form a ball
5) Place it on a baking tray and brush the surface with egg yolk
6) Use a knife to mark the surface
7) Repait these steps with the remaining dough
8) Bake about 30 min. until golden brown
9) Enjoy your pogaça’s with Turkish tea
